As if you needed another reminder alongside the neighborhood chatter and the added volume on the morning roadways, there are markers everywhere that school is back-in-session! Not surprisingly, our favorite indication of such is that Cross-Country season has commenced… Practices at every level and age group are already indicating who did their Summer mileage, stayed healthy and comes into this new season seemingly ready-to-go! Just as importantly, there are just as many student-athletes who are joining this sport for the first time, coming off an injury or busy Summer that didn’t allow much training or even an uncertainty as to whether this is for them…
Fortunately, our annual “XC Episode” showcases a Featured Conversation that takes us to all these places and provides us a bona fide expert on this sport and all the elements that need to be considered at the onset of a new season. More specifically, the Head Coach for Oglethorpe University, Kirk Shellhouse, joins us in-studio and gives us permission to ask the fun and tough questions that athletes, coaches and even parents should be asking…
For sure, best of luck and fortune to all of the teams in the area who inspire us with their commitment and their efforts!
