Big Peach Running Co.

Zoomin’ With Zooma (And Other Things)

Peachy, our round rollicking racing reveler has been busy this past week looking for new ways for his/her/its (?) buds to have fun.

Read on to learn about:

1. Zooma Half Marathon and 5K. We have an exciting offer from New Balance, Zooma and Big Peach to help you make the decision to enter this inaugural event.
2. More news about the Fall Five Miler including the race route.
3. How about a trail race? Check out the Camp Race For Camp Grace.

1. Haven’t decided if you want to zoom around Atlantic Station, parts of Midtown and Downtown at the Zooma Half Marathon on Sunday, November 16th? Here are some great reasons to sign up:

Check out the 50/50 program! New Balance, the official footwear sponsor of Zooma has teamed up with the race director and Peachy to bring you this incredible offer. Come into any BPRC location between now and October 15th, make a $50 purchase of New Balance gear (apparel, footwear, accessories) and receive your half marathon race entry for only $50.00! To add to the cool factor of this offer, we will discount NB gear by 10%, to help you get the most bang for your buck! With the registration fee at $78 through Oct.15th this really is an awesome deal! And while we’re crunching the numbers, please note that this offer expires when 111 people have signed up, or at 8:00pm on Oct. 15.

Still not sure? Here are some more great reasons to participate in this event:

• ZOOMA Women’s Race Series is an exciting new concept in women’s running that celebrates the power and beauty of women athletes. But, that doesn't mean men can’t join in. Hey guys, think about it…a few of you, lots of them…hmmm…
• Post-race pampering from Nani Salon and Spa with massage, hand treatment, reflexology, and aromatic hot towel treatments.
• A long sleeve moisture wicking technical T
• A silver necklace race medal, allowing you to wear your medal every day without looking silly.
• At least $3.00 of each entry fee will go to CARE, a humanitarian organization working to flight global poverty. There are fund raising opportunities to help CARE meet that goal, with some great incentives to encourage your efforts.
• There’s also a 5K if a half marathon is just not your thing!

2. More exciting news about the Fall Five Miler presented by Big Peach Running Co. and AT&T The Real Yellow Pages on October 18! We’ve already mentioned the long sleeve Asics Technical T (a $40 value) for the first 800 people who register. Speaking of Asics, how about a free race entry with a $75.00 purchase of Asics footwear or apparel! Add this to all the great pre and post race activities we have planed including John W. Keddie signing his new book, “ Running The Race: Eric Liddel,” and now we have an event that can’t be missed! Remember, this event is open to runners and walkers, and is stroller and leashed dog friendly. HURRY! Don’t miss out on the Asics T! Register in person at any BPRC location, download an application and mail it in, or register on line at Active.com. Want to get a head start on the race? Check out the turn by turn directions for the course route.

Volunteers are still needed to help make this race a success. If you’re not planning on running or walking the race, think about helping out, or perhaps you can volunteer a friend or family member to help while you’re doing your five miles. Please sign up here.

3. To The Woods…To The Woods! Want to take it off road? How about a trail race for something fun and different! That’s right it’s the Camp Race For Camp Grace 10K/5K on Saturday, Oct. 4th. It’s all trail, all the time – no road running here. What makes this race really different is the opportunity to camp out the night before (primitive camping only). You can just roll out of your sleeping bag, and onto the trail! There are only 75 camp sites available, so register early at any BPRC store or on Active.com. Proceeds for this way cool event will benefit Vision Atlanta/Camp Grace.

So, zoom on over to your nearest BPRC to sign up for some fun ways to have your best miles be those covered on foot!
