Peachy’s plate is so full, he/she (it?) has a virtual smorgasbord of activities to offer!Read on to learn more about: In-store Events Big Peach Sizzler News This Weekend’s Races Fall 5 Miler News ******************** ******************** ******************** ******************** In-Store Events:Who said you can’t walk in someone else’s shoes? Well perhaps, but you can run or walk in shoes other than your own! Weds. 9/16: We’re kicking off the return of the Big Peach Marietta Women’s Morning Run/Walk Group this Wednesday at 10:10am. Adding to the fun of having weekday morning training partners, we start you off with the opportunity to test drive the Adidas Supernova Sequence 2! If you require a little stability to keep your overpronation in check, you might want to slip on a pair, and enjoy the plush, responsive ride Adidas has to offer. Give aways, of course, fun, you betcha! And, while we call this the Women’s Group, guys are certainly welcome too! This group will continue every Wednesday at 10:10am, is free of charge, and open to runners and walkers of all abilities. Please RSVP for this week’s run. (By the way, if you can’t make it for the test drive, we have another coming up in Kennesaw on 9/24 at 6:30pm!) Weds. 9/16: Want to check out Mizuno running shoes too? You should! The Mizuno Run With Us mobile unit is coming to BPRC Kennesaw on Wednesday from 4:00pm-7:00pm! Have your biomechanics checked out with their knowledgeable staff and high-tech gear. Take a pair of Mizuno shoes out for a test drive, and get a tech T for participating! To help schedule, please RSVP and let us know you’re coming! Sat: 9/19: Scavenger Hunt at BPRC Decatur! This month’s usual Saturday morning group run is not so usual! Meeting up at the regular 7:30am start time, teams of 2 get the opportunity to test their trivia skills before heading out for a 4-ish mile scavenger hunt through beautiful downtown Decatur! Use your puzzle solving skills, to find all the stops on your run. One member of each team must have a digital camera or cell phone with camera to document the hunt. The fastest team may not necessarily be the best team. Winning team will find the most landmarks! Prizes for the top teams! Please RSVP to let us know you can make it! (Only one member of each team needs to sign up.) ******************** ******************** ******************** ******************** Big Peach Sizzler 10K News!Race day is only 12 days away! We are getting close to 800 in-store registrations, so if you want the Saucony tech T, come into any BPRC location and sign up in person. Of course, we have a fabulous cotton T for those of you registering on line, or receiving in-person numbers 801 and higher! Also, the race entry fee goes up on 9/16 from $27.00 to $32.00, so you don’t want to delay! If you’re curious about the course, it is posted on the USATF website. And, we are looking for some race day volunteers. Please send a quick email to kate@bigpeachrunningco.com if you can help. Of course, a quick reminder of some of the other highlights of this event: - Free race entry with Saucony purchase of $75.00 or more (registration must take place at same time as purchase) - D-tag chip timing on a blazing fast course for your 2010 Peachtree Road Race qualifier - In-store race number pick up available if you signed up on line or via US Mail, Thurs., 9/24 in Decatur from 11:00 am – 7:00pm, and Friday, 9/25 during the same hours in our Atlanta store - Portion of the proceeds to benefit two very worthy causes: 65 Roses for Cystic Fibrosis, and Team Challenge for Chron’s and Colitis - Huge finish line party with lots of good eats and cool door prizes - Big Peach gift cards to overall male and female winners, masters, age group winners ******************** ******************** ******************** ******************** This Weekend’s Races:We’ve got continuing in-store registration for two great races this Saturday. Pity we can’t clone ourselves and do both! The 4th Annual Roswell Rise n’ Run takes place 7:30am, starting at Hembree Springs Elementary School, 815 Hembree Road, Roswell, GA 30076, and winds through Roswell's beautiful Hembree Park. The proceeds from the event will benefit North Fulton Community Charities. In-store registration continues until 8:00pm Wednesday at BPRC Decatur, Atlanta and Kennesaw, and until 8:00pm Thursday at BPRC Marietta. Then, at 9:30am is the Run For Recovery 5K. Taking place at Kennesaw State University, you get to run or walk a scenic 1 mile loop three times to complete this course. Did you know that KSU is the third largest state campus in Georgia? All proceeds benefit the KSU Collegiate Recovery Center where students in recovery from addiction can find a peer community of abstinence and academic support. In-store registration continues until 8:00pm Wednesday at BPRC Marietta, and until 8:00pm at BPRC Kennesaw Thursday. You know, with starting times 2 hours apart, you may just be able to do both races after all! ******************** ******************** ******************** ******************** Fall 5 Miler News:Registration is going strong at all 4 BPRC locations for our fall classic co-sponsored by AT&T The Real Yellow Pages. While we haven't reached 650 in-store sign ups yet, we're getting close, so if you want the Asics long sleeve tech T, be sure to come in and see us. Of course, as with our Sizzler 10K, there is a great looking cotton T available to those who register on line, or receive in-person race numbers 651 or higher. Race entry fee increases on Oct. 7 from $25.00-$30.00. Other cool stuff about the F5M: - Free race entry with Asics purchase of $75.00 or higher (registration must take place at same time as purchase) - Unique 5 mile course with downhill finish - Portion of the proceeds go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and the Chattahoochee Nature Center - Huge finish line festival with lots of treats and of course raffle prizes - Big Peach gift cards to overall male and female winners, masters, age group winners ******************** ******************** ******************** ******************** No matter how you fill your plate, May Your Best Miles Be Those Covered On Foot! |
