We kick off the training season with the first of our Registration To Race Day series. Tomorrow's offering: Let's Get It Started! Whether this is your 1st or 101st long distance race, you may need help getting motivated. Not only will you get a chance to meet like minded people, you will also have the opportunity to hear from two great speakers: Doc Eaton of Eaton Chiropractic will discuss how he got motivated to practice what he preaches to his patients, and adopt a healthier lifestyle. Wanting to keep up with his grandkids, and set a good example at his office, Doc started walking and eating right, resulting in a 60 pound weight loss to date. Following Doc is Meteorologist Laura Huckabee of CBS 46. One of Atlanta's most enthusiastic runners, Laura does several marathons a year. Her last event took her to Montreal. Learn what motivational tools this busy single mom uses to go the distance. We are also offering the opportunity to win complimentary entry to the ING Georgia Marathon or Half Marathon. In addition, if you register for the race at our clinic Saturday morning, you will save $15.00 off of your entry fee. (This offer will not be available at other BPRC locations, and you must be present to take advantage of the savings,) After the clinic, we will have maps available for a group run or walk of 3 miles or more through beautiful downtown Decatur, taking you on a small portion of the full marathon course. While tomorrow's event kicks off a series, Sunday presents the closing chapter of our 2008 Subaru Trail Running Series. This outing takes us to magnificent Sweetwater Creek State Park. Open to trail runners and day hikers, this is not a race, but a great way to enjoy some of the beautiful fall scenery our town has to offer. You can meet at BPRC-Atlanta at 7:15 to caravan or carpool, or meet us at Sweetwater Creek State Park for an 8:00am start. If you wish to go directly to the park, please use these directions. Once inside the park, follow the main entrance road to the end of the road and the designated parking lot. You can also follow in-park signs for the museum, visitor center and trails. If you are not a Georgia Parks Pass holder, please bring $3.00 for the parking fee.
