The Summer Heat Isn’t All That Sizzles!Yes, that’s right we’re talking about the Big Peach Sizzler! In store registration is going on at all 4 BPRC locations for this way cool Big Peach Event! What makes this race so exciting? So many great things!- Same fast course as the classic Buckhead Sizzler - D-tag timing chips for all participants - Free race entry with any Saucony purchase of $75.00 or more. (Registration must take place at the same time as the Saucony purchase to take advantage of this offer.) - Sign up early and spend August with Jeanne’s Body Tech! Bring proof of registration, and then have unlimited access to JBT for the entire month of August for only $25.00. That small fee includes entry to the facility, and as many classes you would like to attend! - Portion of the proceeds to benefit two very worthy charities; 65 Roses for Cystic Fibrosis, and Team Challenge for Chron’s and Colitis. - Team competition! Embrace our warm summer climate at the 4th Annual Dog Days Run on Saturday, Aug. 8th. The start line is just a few blocks away from BPRC Marietta! The East Cobb Rotary Club does a great job with this fun 5K run/walk, with proceeds benefiting various East Cobb Charities. In-store registration is happening right now at BPRC Marietta and Kennesaw! ******************** ******************** ******************** ******************** Reminder: Big Peach/Subaru trail run at Vickery Creek this Sunday, Aug. 2 at 8:00am. If you haven’t already signed up, please do so, as space is getting limited. We have a 4 mile route set up with options for additional mileage if you so choose. We start the run/walk at 8:00am, but if you would like to meet at BPRC Marietta and carpool or caravan, we will take off from there at 7:30. This event is not a race and is open to runners and walkers of various paces and abilities. Check out our video explaining what makes a trail shoe different from a road shoe for more information about this fun off-road sport. The Details: What: BPRC/Subaru Trail Run Where: Vickery Creek (directions follow) When: Sunday, August 2, 8:00am run, 7:30 Caravan or Carpool Register Now! Directions from Atlanta: Take GA 400N to exit 6, Northridge Road. Turn right at the top of the ramp. Proceed to Roswell Road, and turn right. Continue on Roswell Road until it becomes S. Atlanta Street at the intersection of Azalea Dr. and Riverside Road. Follow S. Atlanta Street up to the top of the hill at historic downtown Roswell. Turn right on Mill Street into the Old Roswell Mill. Parking is available in the far back corner at the bottom of the hill. Look for the Big Peach Subaru. ******************** ******************** ******************** ******************** Aug. 8 at 8:00am, meet the race director from the Zooma Women’s Marathon and 5K road race at our Atlanta store. Learn about this great in-town race, taking place on Nov. 8, and how it is designed to inspire and energize active women. You’ll also have the opportunity to get some mileage in after the clinic with a run/walk around Brookhaven. We have maps for distances from 3 miles on up. (Now gentlemen, stay with us here…the Zooma races are open to men too. Think about it…what a great way to meet interesting, healthy, fit women!) While you’re at our Zooma Kick-off, you will have the opportunity to save $10 off the price of the half marathon race entry, and $5.00 off the 5K fee. We’ll have some cool give-aways, and a few munchies too. And, if all that isn’t reason enough to come to our event, we will also have the opportunity for 5 lucky people to receive a free entry with a $60.00 New Balance apparel purchase. Please RSVP and let us know if you can join the fun! ******************** ******************** ******************** ******************** Aug. 15 at 8:00am, is your chance to meet the race director from the Silver Comet Half Marathon at our Marietta store. This year marks the 9th annual running of this flat and fast race on the Silver Comet Trail, taking place on Oct. 31. Race director Dana Greene will be here to talk a little bit about the race, and to also share her story of how a 2 pack a day smoker became a Marathoner and Ironman Triathlete. Get inspired to train for a half marathon, which is a surprisingly achievable goal! During the event, you will be able to save $10 off the race entry fee, there will be some cool give-aways, and we may just have a munchie or two as well. And of course, no Big Peach clinic would be complete without the option of a run/walk at the conclusion of the program. Please let us know you're coming, so we can plan accordingly. ******************** ******************** ******************** ******************** Then, Aug. 22 at 8:00am, we give you the opportunity to meet the race director of the inaugural Locomotive Half Marathon at our Kennesaw store. This race takes place on Oct. 4. Race director Mark Vescio wants everyone to be able to a run or walk a half marathon, and as such is offering a very low entry fee of only $35.00. Of course, if you register at our event, you will get to save $5.00 off that fee. From race director Mark, he will discuss “the process of talking about my "passion" and "lifestyle", as well as the journey it evolved on, I want to encourage those that typically run or walk the 5K/10K that they CAN complete the half, that my story will hopefully inspire them, and that we will encourage them along the way.” (In other words, he went from spud to stud!) So now you know the drill…we’ll have a group run/walk after the talk, there will be munchies, and we’ll try to round up a few more of those cool give-aways too!
