The Big Peach 5K Is This Weekend!
Yes, that's right, race day is almost here! The Big Peach 5K is this coming Saturday, May 3rd at 8:00am. What?! You haven't registered yet?! Don't worry, it's not too late. Registration continues online at Active.com until 11:59pm on May 1st. You can also register in person at either BPRC location until late afternoon May 2nd, or you can download an application and mail it as long as it arrives by Friday. And of course you may also chose to register race day morning starting at 6:30am at the race start located at the Brookhaven MARTA station. We are rapidly approaching the 2000 mark, so be sure to sign up early in the week to guarantee there is a Nike Dri-Fit T waiting for you at the finish line.
Presented by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, the Big Peach 5K is walker friendly, jog stroller friendly, and even (well behaved) leashed dog friendly. Oh, and of course, runner friendly! All proceeds from this event will benefit the Georgia Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, so please don't miss out on the chance to have some fun, and help a very worthy cause at the same time. Running or walking a race not your thing? Come on out at watch the festivities, or volunteer to help us make our 5K a great experience for the participants. (While we believe we have enough volunteers, we would never turn down a little extra help!) Who knows, race fever may infect you too!
A friendly reminder that there is ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING at the race finish located at Cherokee Plaza. But, don't worry, even though the distance from start to finish is 3.1 miles, the distance from Big Peach back to MARTA is only about 1/2 mile! We hope you will spend some time at our finish line party where there will be entertainment, lots of great food, refreshing Fontis water and the chance to win some fabulous door prizes!
Finally, a sneak preview for next week. Ladies, save the date: May 8th for a fun evening event to be announced in our next newsletter!
May Your Best Miles Be Those Covered On Foot at our 5K, and every day!!!
