Spend Your Weekend On Foot
There’s still space available for our SprING Into Half or Full Marathon Training party on Saturday, Jan. 30. (Simply calling it an event just won’t do!) Arrive at BPRC Atlanta by 8:00am for a great way to start the day. The morning begins with Leah Thomas, a registered and licensed dietician with a specialty certification in Sports Nutrition from GA Tech will provide food for thought on this weighty topic. Mizuno USA will be on hand with their Inspire To Run vehicle, and offer the chance to go for a run in their shoes such as the newly updated Wave Rider 13 and Wave Inspire 12. The ING pace team will be there to lead the way.
There will also be a chance to win a free entry to the ING Full or Half Marathon, and we offer a discount if you sign up in store saving you $5.00 off the half, and $10.00 off the full. Finally, Mizuno USA is catering the event, with no guarantee that Leah Thomas will approve of the food choices. (Peachy saw the menu, and if he/she/it? had a face, it would be stuffed with delicious food!) We already have a sizeable group signed up, so please let us know if you can make it so Mizuno orders enough of that tasty grub for everyone.
As a courtesy to our neighbors, please park as far away from business entrances as possible

Another way to treat your Pedestrian Active Lifestyle (P.A.L.) this weekend is by running or walking the Walton Raider Chase 5K and 1 Miler also taking place Saturday morning. Incredibly, this is the 31st running of a wonderful race that starts and finishes at the Walton H.S. track, and raises money for the track and cross country program. In-store registration ends Thursday at 8:00pm.
One more great Saturday event is the Tartan Trot 5K/10K/Fun Run. Taking place at St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church in Dunwoody, this fun family event has a prize for the top finisher wearing a kilt! The 10K can be used as your 2010 AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifier, and timing chips will be used for the 5K as well as the 10K. Members of the Atlanta Bagpipe Band will be there to entertain you, so get out your kilts and plaid for this one. In-store Registration ends Wednesday at 8:00pm.
If only we could clone ourselves and be at all 3 places Saturday morning!

After such a fun-filled weekend, we wanted to keep feeding your P.A.L. appetite next week by offering you 2 chances to test drive the new Saucony ProGrid Guide 3 and Progrid Triumph 7. The updated Guide 3 features an improved, padded heel cup for amazing lockdown comfort, thicker heel and forefoot cushioning that's even more responsive. It has just the right amount of stability for the mild overpronator. The Triumph 7 is designed for the neutral runner, and the updated version features added shock-absorption in the heel, greater arch support, and springier toe-off.
Of course we will be offering giveaways, food and fun, so join us Thurs., Feb. 4th at 6:00pm at BPRC Decatur, and/or Sat., Feb. 6th at 8:00am, BPRC Kennesaw.

Quick update on Big Peach Outreach, and help for Haiti. Thanks to you, Community Activist Barry Corker added all your shoe donations to his shipment of water, clothing and shoes to Haiti. We have amassed more shoes and will get together with Barry for another shipment. If you have any shoes or clothing to donate, please drop them off at your nearest BPRC location this week. In fact, if you have that closet full of race T-shirts from 10 years ago, and keep saying you’ll make that quilt some day, this might be the best reason to clean out your closet. If those shirts have indeed been hanging around for several years, you’re probably not going to make that quilt, so please consider sending them to Haiti.
Big Peach Outreach has some incredible plans for local community service, and we look forward to sharing that information with you in the very near future.
We thank you for being a part of Peachy’s family. May Your Best Miles Be Those Covered On Foot.
