Run/Walk Your Best 10K Ever!

Want To Run (Or Walk) Your Best 10K Ever?

Then come out to Big Peach Marietta on Thursday evening, Jan. 22, for a fun, informative, and delicious party! In fact, even if you’ve never run or walked a 10K, but would like to, this is one of those “not to be missed” events!

10K road race season starts in earnest on Feb. 7th with the 11th Annual Chattahoochee Challenge! What’s so special about the 10K (6.2 miles) that it gets its own “season?” Well, in addition to being a distance achievable by almost anyone, it is also the distance run on July 4th at the Peachtree Road Race, the world’s largest 10K! By running or walking in a 10K race during the “season,” you can submit your finish time with your Peachtree application to obtain a starting position in to in a more favorable spot. The Chattahoochee Challenge is a great choice for your Peachtree qualifier with its fast, scenic course along the river. And, since our round running mascot Peachy loves a good party, we figured celebrating the Chattahoochee Challenge was a great reason have one!

We start the festivities at 6:30pm with the opportunity for a flat 5K run/walk if you so chose. To add to the fun we have a mini-expo of sorts going on where you can meet Dr. Charlie Peebles of the Atlanta Foot and Ankle Center, Dr. Josh Glass of Georgia Sports Chiropractic, and Collette Ragan of Georgia Sports Massage. They will all be there to answer any questions you may have about your training and how to prevent or fix any injuries that may crop up. While we feed your intellect, we will also feed your body with delicious treats from Willy’s, Smoothie King and Whole Foods!

Sounds great, right?! But wait, there’s more! At 7:00 the clinic begins. You will meet a representative from the Chattahoochee Challenge to learn more about the race. Then to talk to you about why you should enter a Peachtree Road Race qualifier, and how to run or walk your best 10K ever, Tracy Lott of the Atlanta Track Club will give you some excellent pointers!

Of course no party of Peachy’s would be complete without the chance to win some really cool prizes including free entry to the Chattahoochee Challenge with V.I.P. parking passes, a pair of New Balance running shoes, a Big Peach Gift Card, and so much more!

We are packing so much fun into this evening, that we are having a prelude to our 10K event! At 6:00pm we are honored and excited to make a formal check presentation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association for $13,000.00 raised last October at the Big Peach Fall Fiver Miler. In addition, we will also present a check for $1,500.00 to the Chattahoochee Nature Center as part of the funds raised last fall. Please help us honor and celebrate these two incredible organizations!
