Popular Favorites Return!It’s back! The BPRC/Subaru Trail Running Series returns this coming Sunday, June 14th at fabulous Sope Creek Trail, part of the Chattahoochee National Park System! Whether you’re a seasoned trail trotter or pavement purist looking to try something new, we have a great 4 mile route planned that is sure to be fun for trail runners and day hikers alike! If 4 miles just isn’t enough for you, we will have options to add on more! We plan on hitting the trail at the Sope Creek trailhead at 8:00am. If you would like to carpool or caravan, please meet us at Big Peach Marietta (1062 Johnson Ferry Road, 770.579.0444) no later than 7:45am.In appreciation of your enthusiasm for trail running and hiking, a coupon for a free pair of Feetures! socks will be given to all our participants! This event is not a race, and is free and open to runners and walkers of all paces and abilities. We are limiting participation to 100 people, so please sign up right away! For more information, and to reserve a spot, click here. ******************** ******************** ******************** ******************** Also back by popular demand is our Peachtree Prep Run on Saturday, June 20th at 7:30am. This BPRC tradition gets bigger and better every year! We start at BPRC located at 3881 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, 30319, which is about 1 mile north of the official race start line. Then, head south on Peachtree until you reach the corner of 10th street where you will find one of our Subaru vehicles waiting to indicate the end of option 1. So, you ask, what’s option 2? Great question! Turn left on 10th street, and head to Piedmont Park and finish your run at the Reebok Tent (we should have another Peachy Subaru there as well.) That will make your journey about 7.5 miles or so. Since Reebok is the official footwear sponsor of the AJC Peachtree Road Race, you can be sure to find some great folks with some great give away items awaiting your arrival. Then just hop on MARTA after your run with the knowledge that you are ready for that little stroll down Peachtree on the 4th of July with 54,999 of your closest friends! This is not a race, but a casual get together of runners and walkers wanting to prepare for the world’s largest 10K. Roads will be open to traffic and you will be asked to please run on the sidewalk for safety purposes. While we do not limit the number of participants, please RSVP so we can plan the best, safest day possible. ******************** ******************** ******************** ******************** Making it’s 19th appearance in our fair city is the 2009 Pride Run/Walk 5K taking place on Saturday, June 27th in Piedmont Park! And this year you have the added convenience of registering in person at BPRC Atlanta and Decatur stores! The race starts at 8:00am in the park near the newly redesigned pool. Race proceeds to benefit Jerusalem House, an organization providing over 50% of Atlanta's permanent supportive housing designated for homeless persons living with HIV/AIDS. Surprisingly, 40% of their residents are children. This is a wonderful event, at a beautiful location, supporting a very worthy cause. ******************** ******************** ******************** ******************** As if all that isn’t enough, check out the 26th Annual Run For Life 5K and 10K! Talk about an institution in our metro area!! Taking place on Saturday, July 25th, this race is part of the Georgia Games, a larger event that invites you to “Bring The Olympic Spirit Back To Georgia!" Located in Kennesaw, the Run For Life 5K & 10K offers a post-race party, and a great run with family fun! All proceeds benefit the Georgia Sports Foundation's fight against childhood obesity, making this race an even bigger hit with local runners and walkers! In-store registration is now taking place at all 4 BPRC locations. Want even a better reason to sign up? How about using the 10K as your 2010 AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifier?!
