Looking For Something To Do?We can help make your limited leisure time, quality time!Let’s Start With This Weekend’s Races:This is it! The Zooma Women's Half Marathon & 5K is Sunday! Starting and finishing at Atlantic Station, this super fun event gives you a great tour of downtown and midtown Atlanta. With proceeds going to St. Jude Heroes, a charity to help children with cancer, you are not only running for fun, but for a good cause too! If you registered online, you must pick up your race packet prior to race day. To help make that easier, Big Peach Running Co. is offering packet pickup in our Atlanta store on Thursday, Nov. 5 from 4-8 pm, and in our Marietta store on Friday, Nov. 6 also from 4-8. In addition, if you have not yet registered, you can do so at that time. There is also an opportunity to pick up your race packet and register on Saturday at the Zooma Marketplace, Atlantic Station (next to Dillard’s) on Saturday the 7th between the hours of 10 and 4. BPRC will be out there to help you with any last minute items. Both the 5K and Half Marathon start at 7:30 am Sunday. It is requested that all participants arrive no later than 7:00 to ensure an on-time start. Then, stick around for the finish line festivities, which includes brunch from Panera and live music. If you have not yet signed up…what are you waiting for! And, guys, while this is a ‘women’s race,’ it is open to you as well. Imagine the fun you can have surrounded by all those fit, fun women! Finally, Thursday night marks the last in our series of New Balance Girl's Night Out training runs. Since we turned the clocks back, and darkness is coming way too early these days, let's start our final run at 6:00pm rather than 6:30, and keep it to 3 miles in honor of tapering before the race. If you have reflective gear and blinking lights, please bring them to keep you safe. Plan your race day strategy with your training partners and friends! ******************** ******************** ******************** ******************** Also this weekend, on Saturday is the Cabbagetown Romp and Stomp 5K. Located in one of Atlanta’s coolest in-town neighborhoods, this 5K is part of a day of food and fun known as the Chomp and Stomp Chili Cookoff & Festival. There’s an art market, live bluegrass music, and rumor has it, tasty beer too! In-store registration for this day of fun continues at BPRC Marietta and Kennesaw through 8:00pm Wednesday, and BPRC Atlanta and Decatur through 8:00pm Thursday. ******************** ******************** ******************** ******************** If trail running is more your thing, the next installment of the XTerra Trail Race Series takes place this Sunday with a 4.5 and 9 miler known as the Battle of Big Creek in Roswell. This race has reached its capacity at 350 participants, but you might want to volunteer and help out the other runners. If you’ve been toying with the idea of running a trail race, this would be a good opportunity to check one out and see if you’d like to enter the next race in the series, a 10K at Victoria Bryant Park in Royston, GA on Nov. 29. Picture a 200 mile, 12 person relay starting in Athens, working its way to the NGA mountains, running through Helen, and ultimately finishing in historic Roswell. All this in a 24 hour period! Learn more about this amazing race taking place October 8 & 9, 2010. The race directors will be in town to give you the 411. Of course, no Saturday morning BPRC event would be complete without the opportunity for a run. Sign your team up before the end of the year, and save $300 off the entry fee!
