Here’s the rest of your fun forecast one drop at a time so we don’t flood your senses:
Also happening on the 26th is the Fused (No Excuses) 5K Run taking place in College Park. In-store registration will continue until 8:0pm Wednesday at BPRC Marietta and Kennesaw, and until 8:00pm Thursday at BPRC Decatur and Atlanta. This race is presented by the Singles Ministry at Solid Rock, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Habitat For Humanity. There’s also a 1K kids race making this a true family event.

To keep you current (yes, that’s another rain-related pun) with in-store registration, we’ve just added two new races to the list:
On October 31st, it’s the 3rd Annual Beat The Street For Little Feet 5K and Fun Run! This fast 5K race, put on by the Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool (OCP), takes place in the beautiful Candler Park neighborhood. Making this event really slick is the single and double jog stroller division, 1 mile race, and fun run for the young-uns! Rounding out the event is the highly sought after Pet the Cat finisher’s shirt, the post-race children's festival, and the chance to do something good for the environment. The nice folks from OCP offer the opportunity for participants to recycle used running shoes through the Nike Reuse-a-Shoe program, and you can also recycle old printer cartridges and batteries!

We interrupt this newsletter with a handy tip to help dry out your rain-soaked running shoes: Crumple up a couple of sheets of newspaper and stuff them down to the toe box and throughout your shoes. After about 2 hours most of the water will be absorbed. Replace the newspaper with dry sheets, and you’ll find your shoes dried out overnight instead of taking several days. It also helps to let the sock liners dry on their own. Now back to our newsletter…

Also new on the list is the Cabbagetown Romp And Stomp 5K. This fast, flat 5K is great if you’re doing your first 5K, or trying for a PR! There’s even a special division for walkers this year, and a great looking long sleeve T for all participants! What makes this race really exciting is it kicks off the Chomp and Stomp, which is a chili, bluegrass, and arts festival! (Rumor has it you may find a beer or 2 on tap, since the festivities take place at the Milltown Tavern.) Oh, did we mention that race participants get their chili for free? Get to know one of Atlanta’s most interesting, historic neighborhoods at this great, all day event!

Fun continues to pour in at BPRC with continuing in-store registration for the best races in and around our fair city (ok, not so fair lately). Check out the panel to the right for the complete list.

Of course, Peachy would be remiss if he/she (it?) neglected to remind you of our upcoming Fall 5 Miler on Oct. 17th, presented by AT&T The Real Yellow Pages. We have not yet reached 650 in-store registrations if you are interested in making a splash in a beautiful Asics long sleeve tech T. A great looking cotton T awaits those who register online, via US Mail, or if you receive in-store number 651 or higher. We’ve discussed this race for some time now, and will not drown you with details this week.
No matter the weather, May Your Best Miles Be Those Covered On Foot!
