1. The ING Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon are mere weeks away – are you ready for race day? To help make that answer a resounding “yes,” Big Peach Running Co. is excited bring you the final installment in our series of Registration To Race Day clinics! Join us Saturday, March 7th at 7:30am at BPRC Decatur for a great way to spend a Saturday morning!
Race Director Michael Hughes will be on hand to share some insight about the Expo, the race course, and other logistics to help make race weekend, and especially race day, a smooth enjoyable experience! Also on board to impart some important pre-race knowledge is Janice Bashore of Mizuno USA. Janice will offer her world famous “What’s In The Bag?” presentation. Learn some invaluable tips on what to pack in that bag you drop off at the start of the race and pick up at the finish.
Following the clinic, members of the Mizuno/ING pace team will lead a group run/walk taking you on sections of the actual race route! Suggested mileage is 13 for half marathoners and 21 for full marathoners. For most folks, this will be the last long run before the taper (the favorite part of marathon training for many!) If your training program is a bit different, don’t panic we’ve got maps for all kinds of distances from 3 miles on up. So even if you’re just gathering information while you consider your first marathon, and still want to go out for a spin, we’ve got you covered.
And, if all that isn’t incentive enough to get up early on a Saturday, the folks from Georgia Sports Massage will be there to help you recover from the long mileage. Yup, that’s right massage therapists will be awaiting your return. (A nominal fee of $1 per minute will be charged.)
Of course no BPRC event is complete without the chance to win some cool prizes, and if you have not yet put in your ING race application, a discounted rate will be offered during the event. Save $5.00 off the half marathon fee, and $10 off the full.

We decided to add a twist to our Atlanta New Balance test drive:
What do New Balance Running Shoes have in common with the 80’s? 1) you could buy them back then, and 2) we thought it would be fun to have an 80’s theme night for our test drive of the newly updated NB 1063 and 769. Whether you’re stuck in the 80’s, nostalgic for the 80’s, or were born in the 80’s, come to Big Peach Atlanta at 6:30pm this Wednesday evening for a chance to go for a run in some different shoes that are appropriate for you. A costume contest, 80’s treats and music round out this evening, so bust out those headbands and leg warmers, pop your favorite Van Halen song in your Ipod, and let’s party like it’s 1989!
