Cross Training Demystified
Ever look at your half or full marathon training schedule and wonder what to do on those Cross Training days? Join us at BPRC Marietta at 7:30 am this coming Saturday, January 10th for the next installment in our ING Georgia Marathon Registration To Race Day series!
Learn about the do's and don'ts of cross training for optimum performance as a distance runner or walker with Marie Duginski, Owner and Director of Body Vision Studio, and Richard Bilboro, President of One to One Fitness. Marie will talk about the benefits of Pilates for runners, and how it improved her running so much that she made a career change! Then, Richard will talk about the right way distance runners and walkers should do weight training and other activities to make them stronger and faster. A distance runner himself, Richard has been a personal trainer for 20+ years.
After the talk, get your mileage in with a group run led by some of the members of the Mizuno - ING Pace Team. Half marathoners are recommended to go for 8 miles, and full marathoners 13. We have maps for all kinds of distances from 3 miles up, so if your training plan is a little different, no worries – we’ve got you covered!
Of course no BPRC event would not be complete without a drawing for something cool. In this case, you have a chance to win a free race entry. Did you know the race entry fee increased on Jan. 1? We can help your budget by offering a $5 savings off of your half marathon application, and $10 off your full. And to look the part, all official ING apparel will be offered at a special %25 savings during the event in Marietta only. (Cannot be combined with other discounts or offers.)
