A Race 4 All Seasons!
We know the hot summer weather is still upon us, but did you know that the first official day of Fall is just a month away?! There are so many great races around town, Peachy thought it would be a good idea to let you know a little about all the events for which we have in-store registration!
Let’s start with an important update about the Big Peach Fall 5 Miler presented by AT&T The Real Pages taking place on Oct. 17! We decided that fall runners need long sleeve shirts, and we heard how much everyone liked last year’s design, so we made a little change: the first 650 people to register in person at any BPRC location for the Fall 5 Miler will receive a fabulous Asics long sleeve tech T. Register on line, or be #651 or higher in person, and receive a great looking cotton T. Either way, you’ll be stylin’! Just a quick reminder of a few of the other fine points of the 2nd running of this race:
- Free Entry with $75.00 Asics purchase, which must take place as one transaction. (Sorry, we cannot honor a free entry if you previously purchased Asics gear.)
- Proceeds benefit the GA chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Chattahoochee Nature Center
- Scenic loop through beautiful East Cobb, finishing on a slight downhill in front of BPRC
- Walker friendly providing you can complete 5 miles in 75 minutes (15 minute mile) as we have time limits on road closures
- Huge finish line party
- BPRC gift cards awarded to overall winners, overall masters and age group winners
- Number pick up in-store for those registering on line. (More details in weeks ahead)

We interrupt this race calendar listing to remind you of a hot upcoming clinic at BPRC Kennesaw…
This coming Saturday, 8/22 at 8:00 a.m., meet Mark Vescio, race director, and passionate founder of the brand new Locomotive Half Marathon and 5K taking place on Oct. 4. Mark will be on hand to talk about the course, and tell how this former couch potato went from spud to stud as he became an endurance athlete! Mark’s on a quest to motivate people to get up and get moving! (We like that!) A group run/walk of 3 miles (or more if you wish) follows Mark’s talk. Other reasons to join us: sign up for the ½ marathon during the event and save $5.00, post-run fruit and muffins, and the chance to win a $25.00 Big Peach gift card!
