Big Peach Running Co.

A Hunting We Will Go…

First, how about hunting for some clues while you get to experience magnificent Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park!

Here’s how it works:
25 teams of 2-4 participants* meet at the park’s visitor center for a fun, friendly trivia contest. The team with the most correct answers gets to leave on the scavenger hunt first! Then, armed with your best puzzle solving skills and a digital camera, or cell phone camera…a hunting you will go! Follow the clues as you learn about the history of this incredible park. Take a picture of your team at each site, before heading back. Yes you will be mostly on trails, and yes you will experience some hills (it is called Kennesaw MOUNTAIN after all), and the route should be about 5-6 miles. (* Participants under 17 must be accompanied by an adult. Families with lots of children (more than 2) may sign up as a team, and not leave any of the little hunters behind!)

The team solving the most clues, not necessarily the fastest team wins! Talk about fun for the whole family!! All groups must finish the hunt by 11:30am. Big Peach is providing some great prizes to the winning teams!

This is a very cool, unique event put on as a joint project between Big Peach Running Co., and the National Parks Service at Kennesaw Mountain! A donation of $20 is requested for each team. Proceeds go to the Kennesaw Mountain Historical Association for the benefit of the educational programs of Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. Please bring a check or cash with you to the event on Saturday.

Now all you need to do is sign up. Please have only one team member register for the run, and happy hunting!

In keeping with the Nature Center’s mission to “educate people to the natural world and empower them to positively impact their local environments,” this race is billed as Eco-friendly and promises to use less paper, less plastic, and have a re-useable finisher’s bag courtesy of Whole Foods Markets. Registration is limited to 1300 people, and is available at all 4 BPRC locations, so don’t delay, come in and sign up today! (OK, you can also download an application, or register at Active.com.)

If you’re a hardcore hunter, and want to spend a weekend seeking the elusive race T-shirt animal, then you might consider the Sweet Tomatoes Stomp, offering 3 ways to play over a 24 hour period. All races start and finish at the Kennesaw location of Sweet Tomatoes. You can choose to do 1, 2 , or all 3 of these events! In-store registration takes place at BPRC Marietta and Kennesaw.

Finally, if nothing but miles and miles of traipsing on trails is your idea of the perfect hunt, then also on May 30 is the SweetH20 50K trail race! That's right a 50K in our backyard! (50K = 31.0685 miles, by the way.) In-store registration continues at all 4 BPRC locations.
