Q: What Does A 10K Race Have In Common With A Hawks Game?
A: Both offer the chance for fun this Saturday!
Wanna be the first kid on your block to run or walk a Peachtree Road Race qualifying 10K in 2009? It’s not too late to sign up for the 11th Annual Chattahoochee Challenge taking place on Saturday the 7th? In-store registration continues at BPRC Atlanta, Decatur and Kennesaw until 8:00pm Thursday. You will have the opportunity to register at BPRC Marietta until 8:00pm on Friday. (If you can’t make it in to see us, you can sign up on race day morning.)
This fast, fun course starts and finishes at the Chattahoochee Nature Center, and takes you on a scenic route along Azalea Dr. and the river. This event always has a great party atmosphere. B98.5 will be there for pre and post race fun, Whole Foods will have delicious and nutritious treats at the finish, New Balance will have cool giveaways, and if all that’s not exciting enough, the Big Peach Running Co. Mobile Fit Unit will be on hand to check out your biomechanics! Then, stick around and enjoy all the wildlife, wisdom and beauty the Nature Center has to offer!
Looking for a cool way to reward your great performance at the race Saturday? Check out the night of family fun at Philips Arena where the Hawks play the LA Clippers. What does a running store have to do with basketball? Glad you asked! It is also Dekalb Medical Health & Wellness Night at Philips Arena! From an Atlanta Hawks press release: "Doctors and nutritionists from DeKalb Medical will be available in the Philips Experience to answer health-related questions, while various other stations will be set up where fans can test their physical fitness, flexibility, and more." The BPRC Mobile Fit Crew makes its 2nd appearance of the day as a partner in the Treadmill Relay Team Challenge! Come by and say hi to us and cheer on the runners. Making this a slam dunk (yes, pun intended) is Clark Howard and 750 WSB night. You can actually get upper deck tickets for $7.50 each, and get special deals on food and Hawks Souvenirs too! That means finishers will receive a Brooks Technical T for their efforts. And, check this out… purchase $75.00 in footwear or apparel from Brooks and your race entry is free! (Purchase and registration must take place as one transaction at BPRC.) More really cool info about this event in our next installment of Peachy News, so stay tuned!
