Racing This Weekend
If you’re parched by the need to do something for others, then how about entering the 2nd Annual Miles4Major 5K taking place on June 9. The race starts and finishes just off the beautiful Marietta Square, and raises funds and awareness for families who have young children with hearing loss in need of hearing aids not usually covered by insurance. In store registration remains open only at our Kennesaw location until 8:00pm Friday, June 8. We will be hosting packet pickup from 4:00pm-8:00pm Friday in Kennesaw as well.
This portion of Peachy News is all about two of our favorite guilty pleasures. We're guessing that more than a few of you also enjoy partaking.
Let’s start with wine...not whine, but wine. Even tastier, is a trail race followed by wine. The Yonah Mountain Vineyards Crusher 6K Trail Race makes its inaugural run on September 1. The vineyards are located in Cleveland, about and hour and a half drive from downtown Atlanta. After the race try your hand…er…feet at stomping grapes to make some wine. Free wine tasting and admission to the Crush Festival is included in your fee. We do not have in-store registration, but we can offer you a way to save money. Simply enter "PEACH" (upper case) in the promo code field, and save $10 off the race entry.

Our next guilty pleasure is chocolate, and lots of it! Remember last October when a humongous crowd of hot chocolate seeking runners came to our Decatur store to satiate their thirst? Thanks to your enthusiasm, Atlanta is the latest city on the roster for the Hot Chocolate 15K/5K race. We will have to wait until January 2013 to run, but registration is already underway for this race starting and finishing at Turner Field.
What makes the Hot Chocolate 15K/5K so cool?
Something different - there are very few 15K races (9.3-ish miles)
The awesome looking finisher’s hooded sweatshirt
Post race hot chocolate and chocolate fondue
Proceeds go to Ronald McDonald House Charities
To sweeten the deal, enter "peachy" (lower case) in the promo field, and get this great looking hat for signing up! This offer expires 11:59pm July 1, so be sure to sign up right away. (Sorry, no in-store registration.)
